The Queen of the Karkonosze Mountains is the highest peak in the Sudety Mountains and also the most eminent peak in Poland.

Located at an altitude of 1602 meters above sea level, it belongs to the Crown of the Polish Mountains. Its summit offers a magnificent panorama of the Karkonosze range. At the summit are the highest located and active religious building in Poland - the historic chapel of St. Lawrence (patron saint of mountain guides) and the Tadeusz Holdys High-Mountain Meteorological Observatory, resembling a "UFO" in its shape. It is listed in the register of monuments. Also worth seeing is the new Czech post office building developed on the site of a demolished chalet. Since time immemorial, this distinctive summit of the Karkonosze Mountains has amazed visitors with its shape and ever-changing weather. Śnieżka sits in a maritime climate. It has also taken over its characteristics. Therefore, high-velocity winds rage in the area, and there are sudden changes in pressure and atmospheric phenomena such as precipitation from fog, rime, and St. Elmo's Fires.
